be proficient in sketch art you must be able to see
proportions without the aid of guide lines. Unless you are
super human, it takes years to train your eye and memory to
where you will have the needed speed and accuracy. If you read
and understand these simple lessons, you should be able to
teach yourself how to draw. Important to understand is that
many instructors teach only their own procedure, which would
strain your own thinking to understand and imitate. If you
teach yourself, you most likely will end up with your own
style. However, a good instructor will try and understand the
way their students think and help them in a way the student
understands. |
